Operations Manager

FPS Energy\'s International Energy team have been tasked with finding an Operations Manager on behalf of a major operations and maintenance provider. The suitable candidate will have experience working on power plants in Commissioning, Operations, or Maintenance roles.

You will report directly to the Facility Manager and provide plant operations direction, direct daily operational activities, direct plant performance, assure that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner within environmental regulations.

Job Description

In this role you will:

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and yearly operating reports and perform operational tests.


• Develop and update plant operational procedures


• Monitor the inventory levels of chemicals and consumables related to operations to assure adequate supplies are available to maintain operations


• Ensure coordination of group activities with plant environmental specialists as needed to maintain compliance regarding work related environmental issues.


• Ensure safe working practices and procedures are carried out and observed


• You will motivate staff through sound human resource management and a solid enforcement of personnel policies.


• Set high and challenging productivity and quality standards for yourself and the work group. In this you will encourage new ideas, work methods and attempt to lower costs and increase productivity, quality and safety.


• Provides direct reports with well defined job expectations, ongoing performance feedback and accurate appraisal of performance.


• You will represent the company/plant in a professional and positive manner in all internal and external contacts.

Education / Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and/or education preferred.

• A thorough demonstrated understanding of power plant operations, including a working knowledge of the operations functions for gas turbines - specifically GE Frame 9E simple cycle equipment.
